Job Description

HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATOR, Mathematics, to coordinate all human resources (HR) employment activities and assist with and provide advice on all operational and procedural matters involving HR.  Will prepare academic appointment forms and submit hiring information as required; provide preliminary orientation for new employees; coordinate the initiation of requests for all immigrant and non-immigrant visas to the International Scholars Office and process all visiting student requests; develop and prepare search plans for hiring staff; work on the development of promotions to new and existing non-academic positions and provide guidance on classification, qualifications, and salary; respond to inquiries regarding Institute personnel policy and its interpretation for faculty and staff; act as principal facilitator/liaison for support staff issues and concerns; work closely with supervisors on annual salary reviews (SRS, Support, Rank List II), coordinate review process, and maintain current job descriptions for administrative and support staff positions; maintain confidential personnel records; coordinate with outside staffing contractors, including interviewing, hiring, and supervising temporary support staff to fill departmental needs; assist with the faculty search and promotion process; supervise the web administrator and help with online web directory and department e-mail list updates; supervise at least two staff employees; collaborate with the administrative officer and special project coordinator on the department space planning; and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; and four years of direct/related experience, preferably in the higher education field. PREFERRED:  HR certification from SHRM or HRCI; and familiarity with MIT policies and procedures and Atlas.  Job #22231-8
