About the Position:

This role is an on-campus, in-person position.

The Assistant Director is responsible for outreach, recruitment, and yield of top candidates for the Working Professional MBA programs ensuring Cox remains competitive and continues to grow and drive critical revenue for the school.

This position will make outbound phone calls, as well as send texts and emails to prospective candidates to sell the Cox MBA.

This individual will also help plan and run recruitment events to attract top candidates to the MBA programs at SMU Cox.

Essential Functions:

  • Candidate Outreach, Recruitment, and Follow-Up: Daily outreach via phone calls, texting, and email to prospective students in the Working Professional programs.

  • Event Planning & Execution: Plan, coordinate, and execute events for Working Professionals MBA programs– coffee chats, information sessions, webinars, and yield events. Present to prospective candidates. Collaborate with Full-Time MBA and Specialized Master's teams on joint admissions events.

  • Provide additional support to broader Cox Graduate Admissions Team through other duties as assigned; examples which could include: marketing and communications, yield projects, student engagement oversight, competitive research of other MBA programs, etc.

  • Operational Excellence: Implement processes in Slate and other tools to streamline recruiting, events, candidate tracking, admissions, and yielding processes.

 
Qualifications
 


Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s is required.

A minimum of two years of professional work experience is required in environments where organization, details, verbal and written communication, and customer service were key to success.

Background in sales or consultative sales is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidate must demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies (students, alumni faculty, staff and prospective students) in a diverse community. Must also demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in writing with a strong attention to detail. Strong presentation skills with the ability to present clear and accurate information to small and large groups are required.

Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills.

Candidate must have a working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) internet and email communication systems. A working knowledge of Peoplesoft is preferred. A working knowledge of Salesforce, Slate, and/or other admissions software desired.
