Postdoctoral Fellow - IceCube EPSCoR Initiative
The Department of Physics and Astronomy seeks a research postdoctoral fellow to join the IceCube EPSCoR Initiative (IEI) project at the University of Alaska Anchorage. IceCube is the largest neutrino detector in the world, located at the South Pole in Antarctica, and is used for a variety of multimessenger astrophysics missions. The postdoctoral fellow will participate in scientific analysis of data from IceCube, and in outreach efforts to the public and to the UAA community. This position is funded by an NSF EPSCoR grant for Minority Serving Institutions (MSI), so the applicant must have a recent Ph.D. from an MSI institution, and be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
This position is initially funded for 1.5 – 2 years starting Spring 2023, with a possibility of extension.
This position is term-funded and is reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University's discretion.
