Position Highlights

Post doctoral position in the Space Systems Lab focused on radiative transfer modeling as applied to remote sensing spectroscopy using ground-based and laboratory based instruments.

This is a year-to-year appointment, contingent upon funding and performance.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coding radiative transfer models, building laboratory spectroscopy chamber for vacuum spectroscopy, mentoring undergraduate students, writing peer-reviewed papers and conference abstracts.
Minimum Qualifications
  • The selected candidate must have a conferred PhD upon hire.
  • Extensive experience in python programming for visible and NIR spectroscopy using ground-based telescopes and laboratory.
  • All participants must be U.S. citizens with case-by-case exceptions made by the government for residents of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Conferred PhD in planetary sciences with background in astronomy.
