The nanomaterials group of Professor Yury Gogotsi (http://nano.materials.drexel.edu) is seeking a post-doctoral associate to research MXenes and their applicability as active material in aqueous zinc electrolytes.

Essential Functions

  • The research will involve synthesis and chemical modification of two-dimensional transition metal carbides and nitrides (MXenes). Other duties include but are not limited to writing reports and managing the research project.
  • Assist in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students
  • Disseminate information through national/international meetings and publication of scientific results in high-profile peer-reviewed journals is expected.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently
  • Participate in all group meetings and activities
  • The candidate must have good oral and written communication skills and be able to interact effectively with a broad range of colleagues.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum education of PhD in materials science, chemistry, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in related field.
