Information:
Eastern Arizona College’s District Offices are located in Thatcher, Arizona, a beautiful rural area with easy access to arid as well as mountainous recreation. The College is located approximately 125 miles northeast of Tucson and 165 miles southeast of Phoenix. EAC is a comprehensive community college offering five associate degrees across nearly 50 programs of study. Eastern Arizona College is the oldest member of the Arizona Community College system and is fully accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of NCA.

Organizational
Relationship:
The Diesel Technology Instructor reports to the Industrial Technology Education Division Chair. Required

Qualifications:
• Minimum five years recent occupational experience in diesel mechanics or an appropriate related field.
• Ability to teach Diesel Technology courses in intensive occupational certification program.
• Ability to relate well to students from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to foster and maintain safe practices while adapting to emerging working conditions.
• Ability to work closely with department colleagues.

Preferred
Qualifications: • Appropriate industrial certification(s).
• Experience in the mining industry.
• Ability to use computers to supplement instruction.
• A clear understanding of and commitment to the community college philosophy and goals.

Responsibilities:
• Teach a variety of community college occupational diesel technology courses.
• Teach no more than nine (9) contact hours a week; courses may be offered at various times including early morning, morning, afternoon, evening and night schedules.
• Be available for consultation with colleagues, attend mandatory meetings, and complete training and other assignments as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Availability:
Adjunct instructor pay varies based on the load hours and student count. The anticipated position start date is August 16, 2021.
