LEO Lecturer III in Biochemistry

Job Description

Summary

The Department of Natural Sciences of the University of Michigan-Dearborn invites applications for a full-time, 100% effort, LEO Lecturer III in Biochemistry beginning August 28, 2023. The appointment is for a three-year term with annual reappointment contingent upon successful annual reviews.  Renewal beyond the three years will be based on the department’s continued needs.  Candidates must have a doctoral degree in Biochemistry or a closely related field and experience teaching biochemistry courses including those with laboratories. Preference will be given to candidates who have advanced teaching experience, who have participated in course assessment, and/or experience with plant biochemistry.  Teaching responsibilities are seven courses per academic year including upper and lower level biochemistry lecture and laboratory courses.  Opportunities may arise for new course development. Summer teaching may be available for additional compensation.  Some service is expected, including, but not be limited to, committee work and/or student advising.  There is no research component.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
