  • Receives/Reviews progress and evaluates results of experiments or projects under control or supervisory responsibility.
  • Recommends changes in research, testing or experimental procedures.
  • May be responsible for a single highly technical and complex piece of research equipment.
  • May review and evaluate the effectiveness of personnel.
  • May plan for and assign personnel to projects under control.
  • Operates with latitude for unreviewed action.
  • May receive general supervision conferring with higher levels only in unusual situations.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

    Qualifications

     

    Doctoral and No experience

    Requires singular knowledge of a specialized advanced professional discipline or the highest level of general business knowledge, normally acquired through attainment of a directly job-related terminal degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed .No experience is required.

     

     

     

    The Child Language Ability Laboratory (PI: Dr. Monique T. Mills) at the University of Houston seeks a postdoctoral

    researcher to contribute to the successful completion of an NIH grant examining dialect detection

    in school-age Black children, https://reporter.nih.gov/search/4WOTGphx0OKUA4mUUxl3Q/project-details/10597841 . The project will involve eye-tracking data collection and analysis as well as behavioral studies employing norm-referenced testing and

    language sampling. The postdoctoral researcher’s responsibilities are to: design/develop studies; collect, manage, store, and analyze data; write manuscripts and proposals; present at conferences; and hone professional development skills.

As a participant in the University of Houston Postdoctoral Fellows Association, the postdoctoral researcher will take part in a series of workshops designed to prepare them for academic job searches, attend grant

    We strongly urge applicants with the following qualifications to apply experience using behavioral and/or eye-tracking methods with young children, technical expertise (e.g., R, E-prime, Tobii Pro Lab, SPSS, Excel), strong data management skills, excellent project management skills, experience supervising and coordinating the work of research assistants.
