Rutgers University- Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking a Head Coach – Women’s Volleyball. This is a twelve-month position reporting to the Director of Athletics & Recreation.
The Head Coach is responsible for and not limited to the following:
  • All facets of developing and maintaining a successful NCAA Division III Women’s Volleyball. program
  • Recruiting athletically and academically qualified students
  • Retaining students in the program
  • Planning and conducting practices
  • Fundraising
  • Budget preparation and management; hiring and supervising of assistant coaches
  • Other secondary duties as assigned

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University or combination of education and/or experience equivalent
  • 3 years of Women’s Volleyball coaching experience at the College level; as either Head or Assistant Coach or, 3 years as a Head Coach at the High School level with Collegiate playing experience

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must be computer literate
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Willingness to work long hours, including nights and weekends
  • Must have demonstrated ability to successfully recruit to an NCAA Div III institution located in an urban environment
  • Must be knowledgeable of NCAA Div III regulations and must be committed to adhering to all NCAA, NJAC, CVC, and institutional regulations
  • Valid driver’s license

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster upon eligibility and upload proof of same. Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals , if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain a medical or religious exemption from the University will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
