Job Summary | An NIH-funded position is available for a highly motivated individual to investigate Chlamydia pathogenesis at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. The project will focus on further development and application of genetic strategies to dissect aspects of chlamydial invasion, intracellular development, immune evasion, and overall pathogenesis. Chlamydia spp. are medically significant pathogens that have recently become tractable to transformation and mutagenesis. Therefore, the position will provide the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of a productive, new area of investigation. Minimum requirements include a Master’s Degree but a Ph.D. in Microbiology is preferred. A strong record of publications, excellent communication (oral and written) skills, and the ability to work independently are essential. Candidates with a rigorous background in molecular biology, bacterial pathogenesis, or eukaryotic cell biology are especially encouraged to apply The University of Kentucky considers the health, safety and well-being of our entire community to be a top priority.
