The Foothill-De Anza Community College District is currently accepting applications for the faculty position of Counselor, Foothill College.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:

The counseling faculty should expect their time to be split between supporting dual enrollment efforts and providing counseling services to the general student population. This position is responsible for teaching classes and providing community college bound counseling services at Foothill and participating high schools, with possible online assignments. The faculty will work on and off campus; such activities will include working collaboratively with the Foothill Student Outreach Office, community presentations, middle school and high school presentations, teaching, and other duties as assigned. This position may require evening and/or Saturday hours. Participation in campus committees, curriculum development and professional activities is expected.

Standard duties expected of all faculty include development and evaluation of curricula, maintaining scheduled office hours, attending department and division meetings, pursuing professional growth activities, service on district and/or college committees, and performing other duties consistent with the role of an instructor.  Instructors also have the opportunity to participate in campus extra-curricular activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1.  Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff.
  2.  Master’s in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy or marriage, family and child counseling, OR the equivalent (NOTE: A bachelor’s degree in one of the listed degrees and a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative qualification for this discipline.)

HIRING RANGE: $73,799.00 - $121,204.00 annually plus benefits; actual placement is based on applicant’s verified education and experience.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Full-time, Tenure-track, 11-months per year
