The Department of Neurobiology at the University of Pittsburgh seeks to recruit an exceptional candidate to develop and grow research programs focused on investigations of the anatomical and functional organization of the primate brain. We have established a marmoset colony on-site that will support translational studies in genetically engineered AD models using customized 9.4T MRI, PET-CT, and two-photon microscopy, all capable of imaging awake, behaving animals.

The position to be filled is at the non-tenure-stream Research Assistant Professor level. Candidates must have an MD and/or Ph.D. in Neuroscience or a similar field, and have demonstrated exceptional qualifications in research, novel hypotheses and approaches, and excellent collaboration and communication skills. The successful candidate must have at least 3 years of postdoctoral experience and should have experience in employing a combination of magnetic resonance imaging, optical imaging, electrophysiology, behavioral, and neuronal tracing toolkits to study the anatomical and functional organization of the brain in nonhuman primates (marmosets and macaques) as a way to understand the human brain. Experience working with non-human primates (marmosets and macaques) is required.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with outstanding faculty and students from multiple programs, including joint graduate programs with Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in Computational Biology and Neural Cognition/Computation .
