Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Neurocognitive Care Services, Dr. Christina Weyer Jamora the Neurocognitive Health Psychologist would provide neuropsychological assessment and cognitive rehabilitation, as well as, related behavioral interventions to support the unique needs of the brain tumor patient and their loved ones served by our department. This role would primarily focus on improving the quality of life of patients and their loved ones by addressing the complex interplay of cognitive, emotional, and neurological sequelae common to this population. Embedded in the Neurocognitive Care Service in the UCSF Brain Tumor Center, candidates should have demonstrated proficiency in neuropsychology, cognitive rehabilitation, individual/group intervention, cancer care, and providing evidenced-based health psychology interventions.


Department Description

The Division of Neuro-Oncology in the Department of Neurosurgery is a referral, recommendation, and treatment service for adult patients with Central Nervous System tumors (primary brain tumors). The Neurocognitive Care Services at the UCSF Brain Tumor Center is a hub of clinical and research excellence committed to improving the quality of life of patients and their loved ones by reducing the impact of tumor and related treatment thinking changes and emotional distress. We partner with our primary brain tumor patients and their loved ones to provide compassionate and holistic care.


Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree in clinical psychology and one year of post-doctoral experience in clinical psychology; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of duties assigned to the position. Current, valid license in California as a psychologist. Out of state licensed psychologist have 180 days to complete licensure requirements in the State of California.
  • Possession of a valid license in Psychology issued by the California Board of Psychology.
  • Completion of the equivalent of a postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology or 1 year experience as a neuropsychologist.
  • Experience in neuropsychological and psychosocial assessments, cognitive rehabilitation and mental health treatment planning, and implementation of evidence-informed health psychology and cognitive interventions. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with cancer populations
  • Previous experience working as a health psychologist
  • Prior related UC experience

License/Certification

  • Possession of a valid license in Psychology issued by the California Board of Psychology.
