Job Description


The Department of Neurosurgery at the Yale University School of Medicine seeks a faculty level Associate Research Scientist to work at the cutting edge of diagnostic methodologies for human pathogen detection and characterization. A PhD in a Life Science (Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Genomics, Biochemistry) or equivalent is required with preferred postdoctoral experience. Broad knowledge and understanding of novel and established clinical and diagnostic assay technologies are needed (e.g., IHC, ISH, Digital Pathology, NGS, PCR, liquid biopsy, MRD), along with hands-on experience with diagnostic assay development. A collaborative nature and ability to present scientific content to diverse audiences is important. The candidate will serve in a laboratory leadership position, supervising technicians, and contributing to mentoring graduate students and postdocs.
