Job Summary
The Sports Medicine Research Institute in the College of Health Sciences at the University of Kentucky is seeking an outstanding and highly motivated post-doctoral scholar with expertise in lower extremity biomechanics. The post-doctoral scholar will work on projects funded by the Department of Health and Human Services-FEMA helping to identify mechanisms of firefighter injuries and evaluating the efficacy of providing direct access to healthcare practitioners within fire departments. The person in this position will work with study team members to evaluate, collect and analyze data, and prepare the results for publication and conference presentation. Applicants with experience in qualitative research, data transcription, and working with first responder populations will be given preference.
 
The applicant must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Kinesiology, Rehabilitation Science, Exercise Science / Physiology or a related field, with significant research experience, and evidence of scholarly productivity. Applicants who are ABD with the intention of graduating in the Spring\Summer 2023 semester are also encouraged to apply. Eligible applicants should be highly motivated and be able to work in a collaborative environment, and have the ability to communicate effectively in oral and written communications. The applicant must possess outstanding computer skills including ability to use ZOOM, MS Teams, Google docs, REDCap, and Dedoose. A Valid driver’s license and be available to travel for data collection and program assessment is required. The applicant will have the opportunity to contribute to the writing of grant applications and publications.
