Post-doc position to investigate the role of non-myogenic mesenchymal cells in skeletal muscle development, disease, and regeneration. 

The Hilton lab in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Cell Biology at Duke University is seeking to fill a postdoctoral position studying newly identified populations of non-myogenic mesenchymal cells and their effects on skeletal muscle development, disease, and regeneration. 

Requirements: 

· PhD in cellular, molecular, or developmental biology. 

· Scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals. 

· Background: Skeletal muscle biology and physiology. Experience in conducting FACS, single cell analysis, and bioinformatics. 

· Skills: Experience with immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, gene expression analysis, and mouse genetic models. Excellent communication skills. 

Terms and conditions: 

· Conduct research with the goal of submitting high-quality manuscript(s). Salary is available for 3 years, renewed annually according to progress. The candidate is expected to be competitive for external funding.
