Summary of Job Duties:

Seeking a highly motivated individual for a Post Doctoral Fellow position available starting August 2022. The associated projects will have Silicon Photonics, Photonics Integrated Circuits, Nanophotonics, etc. The Post Doctoral Fellow will mainly work on conducting research, helping in day-to-day operation of the lab, and assisting faculty to supervise graduate students.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in electrical engineering, physics, or material science with an emphasis on solid state electronics conferred by the start of employment

  • Knowledge of semiconductor material property, optoelectronic device physics

  • Willingness to and take initiative to learn new concepts.

  • Experience of semiconductor device simulation

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A few years of practical experience in semiconductor optoelectronic device fabrication and characterization, particularly working on group-IV and/or III-V materials

  • Knowledge of infrared photodetectors and semiconductor lasers

  • Proficient in device simulation, either using commercial software (Silvaco, Comsol, etc.) or generating professional-grade code (Matlab, C++, etc.)
