Overview

This position has comprehensive administrative and business-technical operations responsibilities for the Computational Solutions (CS) organization within the department of Informatics & Analytics.

The role will be responsible for running day-to-day operations while contributing to administrative process improvements and assisting with the planning and tracking of both operational budgets and capital projects.  Responsible for the operation and administration of the expanding Informatics Services Core within Computational Solutions and supporting the implementation of certain technical modernization projects within the scope of our Research Computing services.

Responsibilities

CS Financial Administration

  • Responsible for carrying out the day-to-day operational tasks for the Computational Solutions organization such as: create requisitions and purchase orders; track invoices and payments from vendors; help prepare contracts and other documents with external parties
  • Act as liaison with DFCI Finance, Purchasing, HR, A/P, Facilities, and Legal to enable efficient operational and business activities
  • Execute complex transactions in internal systems (PeopleSoft HR, PeopleSoft Finance, iCIMS); serve as resident expert in Institute’s operational processes and policies
  • Assist in budget planning and tracking of both operational budgets and capital projects
  • Collect data and produce financial and other operational reports for internal Computational Solutions operations
  • Assist in the production of summary reports or dashboards for presentation to various departmental and institute stakeholders
  • May participate in process improvement teams and share or carry out project management responsibilities for the implementation of such efforts

 

CS Technical Administration

  • Manage assignment and renewal of software licenses for research applications managed by Computational Solutions; track usage and ensure appropriate provisioning
  • Help in the management of cloud accounts with multiple vendors; collect data and produce usage reports for planning and tracking purposes
  • Support the implementation of certain technical improvement projects
  • May share or carry out project management responsibilities for the implementation of Research Computing technical modernization projects

I&A Operations

  • Responsible for the administrative operation of the chargeback model for Bioinformatics, Data Sciences, Research Computing Infrastructure and Frontline Support services provided by the Informatics Core; process, review and track all service related charges
  • Work with Research Administration and Computational Solutions staff to maintain regular, accurate and up to date list of service users
  • Produce and present reports on service usage metrics and identify updates to the pricing schedule as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology or related field
  • 5 years’ related experience with emphasis on financial management
  • Experience supporting administrative operations within a healthcare organization preferred
  • IT-related experience or training strongly preferred
