Class Description

The Community College of Baltimore, a regional leader in online education, is looking for qualified individuals to join their Online Learning unit.  The Learning Management Administrator I will support the department by assisting with the day-to-day operation of the Learning Management system (LMS).  They will provide high quality customer service for technical tickets, while also utilizing their programming skills to develop Application Programming Interfaces (API) that will enhance the use of the LMS.

 

Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field.  Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.  

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required, degree in instructional technology, computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or related field preferred. Two (2) years of full-time experience in the administration of a learning management system (LMS) required, Brightspace preferred. Experience working in higher education preferred. Computer programming certifications required, API, AWS, SAML preferred.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Provide leadership and/or support to assigned College division and/or function.
  2. Remain knowledgeable about the College, its structure, culture, policies, and practices.
  3. Serve as point of contact for internal and external organizations.
  4. Prepare and analyze reports, as requested.
  5. Serve as an advocate for the College and its students, as required.
  6. Serve as liaison between College departments, faculty and/or staff, as required.

Position Specific Essential Duties

  1. Support implementation, development, integration, and ongoing operations for       CCBC’s learning management system, currently Brightspace
  2. Support day-to-day operations of LMS(s), including troubleshooting and maintenance. May require off-site activities as defined by supervisor.
  3. Serve as contact for support issues, including interactions with LMS(s) and related supported services.
  4. Develop Application Programming Interfaces (API) to enhance the use of the LMS.
  5. Assist in managing and enforcing LMS standards, policies, and procedures.
  6. Support expanding and integrating LMS options with additional components (LTI’s and 3rd party tools).
  7. Maintain knowledge and information of products, developments and trends in LMS(s) and related software.
  8. Provide reports on LMS updates and hotfixes including implications.
  9. Deliver training programs on the current LMS(s) and related    applications.
  10. Provide high quality customer service.
