Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year

 

Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College is accepting applications for the following position:

Public Relations Coordinator/ Executive Assistant to the Chancellor

This professional position is responsible for all public relations at the college including social media, print media, and liaison with NLTCC and LCTCS public relations professional groups. In addition, will serve as confidential executive assistant to the Chancellor.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as confidential executive assistant to the Chancellor, relieving the Chancellor of a wide and complex variety of administrative details; review, research, analyze, and evaluate issues, data, recommendations, and alternatives as assigned; use independent judgment to develop and provide recommendations, suggestions, advice, or information as appropriate.
  • Manage and coordinate the daily operations of the offices of the Chancellor; prioritize, assign, schedule, coordinate, oversee, and evaluate the flow of work and assure that work is performed in a timely and accurate manner; form and convey independent decisions within scope of authority.
  • Serve as the primary contact in the Chancellor’s Office and the liaison between the Chancellor and individuals, such as Board members, College Presidents, Vice Chancellors, management staff, certificated and classified staff, students, legislators, media, representatives of community agencies, dignitaries, and the general public.
  • Discuss, prioritize, and review calendar and events daily with the Chancellor to assure timely and appropriate coordination of activities and status of assigned projects; prepare preliminary responses to correspondence for Chancellor's approval.
  • Set objectives for the PR department.
  • Maximize brand presence on various channels (e.g. web, TV and social media)
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media and influential professionals
  • Arrange interviews and press releases to promote the College and its services and programs.
  • Ensure brand consistency in all advertising efforts.
  • Organize PR events to increase awareness of our College.
  • Track and influence media coverage.
  • Report on PR campaigns’ results.
  • Manage sensitive issues to maintain company’s good reputation in accordance with LCTCS media relations policy.
