The Department of Psychology has 30 full-time faculty, approximately 800 undergraduate majors, MA programs in school (MA/SSP), general and I/O psychology, and a PhD program in health psychology, with clinical health (APA accredited), pediatric school (APA accredited), and occupational health concentrations. The Clinical Health Psychology concentration was recently reaccredited by the American Psychological Association for 10 years. Job Duties
The Department of Psychology invites applications for a Fixed Term, Clinical Assistant Professor to serve as Assistant Clinic Director beginning August 14, 2023. This 9-month, fixed-term position is a high priority for the department and involves a primary responsibility to participate in our APA accredited clinical health and pediatric school psychology training programs. The Department of Psychology operates a departmental training clinic (https://psychology.ecu.edu/pass/ ) that provides clinical services to students, faculty, and community residents. The successful applicant will participate in the delivery and supervision of clinical services of practicum students in the clinic and can contribute to the didactic mission of the department. The responsibilities of this position may also include: teaching graduate courses in assessment, therapy and/or supervision, undergraduate teaching of applied psychology courses, and administrative responsibilities in the clinic as the Assistant Clinic Director. This position would be a great fit for someone who would like to be closely involved with the clinical training of doctoral students, particularly in the clinical health concentration. Opportunities exist for clinical research collaborations within our Health Psychology program and with other departments, including those at the ECU Brody School of Medicine.
This position is contingent upon funding.
Minimum Education/Experience
Applicants must hold a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program, or equivalent, and be licensed or licensed eligible with the North Carolina Psychology Board: having passed EPPP and accrued the requisite number of postdoctoral hours for North Carolina licensure. Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Expertise with adult populations is required.
