POSITION SUMMARY: The School of Business and Economics at Moravian University, accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Economics. Candidates specializing in applied microeconomics with two or more specializations in each of the following teaching and research fields are preferred: Econometrics, Industrial Organization, and Labor Economics. A Ph.D. in Economics or a related field is required; advanced ABDs will be considered.

The School of Business and Economics advances the values of the liberal arts and professional education through the traditions of Moravian University. The School offers programs in accounting, economics, finance, management, and marketing. Graduate degrees offered within the department are MBA, MSHRM, MHA, and MS in Data Analytics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Candidates must exhibit the potential for excellent teaching, an active research agenda, and an openness to serving the school and university. Further, as we prepare each student for a reflective life, fulfilling careers, and transformative leadership in a world of change, candidates must display a strong desire to teach economics in a liberal arts environment where diversity, equity, and inclusion are institutional values. The standard teaching load is 3/3 and may include both in person and online graduate and undergraduate teaching. The successful candidate is expected to be actively engaged in research leading to publication. All faculty in the school are expected to meaningfully contribute to service that enhances the goals of the school and university. Service as an academic advisor in the school is required. Opportunities for summer teaching are available.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. in Economics or a related field is required; advanced ABDs will be considered.
