Position Summary
The Division of Cariology in the Department of Cariology, Operative Dentistry and Dental Public Health and the Oral Health Research Institute (OHRI) at the Indiana University School of Dentistry have available a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in the area of dental hard-tissue research. The ideal candidate will have a background in cariology with focus on erosive tooth wear, with extensive experience on laboratory and clinical testing methods. Knowledge in the areas of bio-tribology, dental topography, dental microwear and/or digital imaging is desirable. The candidate is expected to have excellent communication/writing skills in English, to be a team player, and appreciate working closely and collaboratively with others in the OHRI group.
The successful candidate will conduct research independently as part of the erosive tooth wear research program, but also collaborate in various projects within the OHRI. The position will entail an 90% research focus with the remaining 10% dedicated to educational support and training of students. Opportunities for professional development will be provided. Applicants should have a PhD degree in dental sciences, cariology or a closely related field. DDS degree is desirable, but not required. Applicants must have a growing track record of scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals, and previous experience writing research grant proposals. The position will be for a period of one year, with the possibility of a one-year extension subject to satisfactory performance review and funding environment.

Basic Qualifications
