Be a force of positive energy to help create AWESOME marketing and communications programs that get our fans excited! Our Marketing and Public Relations Internships will be onsite positions at LEGOLAND Florida Resort (Winter Haven) These internships are for Winter/Spring beginning January 3rd, 2023 and will go through May 2023, exact dates to be determined.

At this time relocation/housing assistance is not offered for this role.

The LEGOLAND Florida Resort currently includes LEGOLAND® Theme Park, LEGOLAND® Water, Peppa Pig Theme Park and three onsite hotels: LEGOLAND® Hotel, LEGOLAND® Pirate Island Hotel and LEGOLAND® Beach Retreat.

The perfect candidate would be an organized individual who is excited to learn about the theme park industry and to dive into the different facets of marketing.

The 2023 winter/spring internship:

  • Will include the grand opening of the all-new ride Pirate River Quest, Pirate Fest Weekends event and major Annual Pass program initiatives
  • Will require a minimum of 24 hours each week, which can be set to be flexible around school schedule, and 40 hours per week is preferred
  • Will include formalized training opportunities at Merlin Entertainments, including leadership and career workshops, and access to development tools

Skills + Requirements:

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree and enrolled as a sophomore-level or greater in marketing, communications, business, or similar college/university program or have graduated within the last six months
  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) if currently enrolled or a final GPA if recent graduate
  • An official transcript may be required upon request
  • Demonstrated interest in marketing and branding
  • Excellent verbal, written and proofreading skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization skills
  • Must be energetic, self-motivated, and demonstrate a strong personal desire to achieve results
  • Capable of multi-tasking, in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment & extremely detail-oriented & resourceful
  • Ability to work onsite at LEGOLAND Florida Resort (Winter Haven) and maintain professional business relationships
  • Computer proficiency in Outlook, PowerPoint, Word & Excel
  • Experience within the theme park/hospitality/tourism industry is preferred

Public Relations Internship:

In this role, you’ll assist with public relations and digital content initiatives that drive visitation, increase consumer purchasing, and inspire loyalty to and advocacy of LEGOLAND® Florida Resort. This intern will gain a well-rounded understanding of public relations fundamentals, including communication strategy development, relationship building and branded content creation, for LEGOLAND Florida Resort and Merlin Entertainments.

This intern will:

  • Participate in brainstorm sessions to strategize for upcoming events and media opportunities, with a focus on PR tactics and pitches
  • Help develop various PR materials, including media alerts, press releases and fact sheets
  • Assist with national and regional media relations, including onsite live shots, developing talking points and story strategy
  • Use media monitoring services to track coverage and develop media contact list
  • Develop and maintain inventory of marketing materials to support promotional and event opportunities
  • Help team in developing content for multiple social media platforms and catalog user-generated content for future posts
  • Assist the social media + Digital Content Manager with influencer collaboration requests
  • Review LEGOLANDFlorida.com website for content accuracy on an ongoing basis and recommend content revisions when appropriate to encourage positive guest experience.
  • Complete administrative tasks as assigned to include presentation generation, ticket requests, media event recaps, etc.

Marketing Internship:

In this role, you’ll assist with business cases and initiatives that drive visitation, increase consumer purchasing, and inspire loyalty to and advocacy of LEGOLAND® Florida Resort. This intern will gain a well-rounded understanding of the brand management, content creation and marketing fundamentals, including paid media placements and digital strategies for LEGOLAND Florida Resort and Merlin Entertainments.

This intern will:

  • Monitor information across digital platforms, including brand websites and vacation booking systems, and work with manager to update content in a timely manner
  • Create copy and adapt content to relevant executions (web, CRM, trade placements, etc.)
  • Assist marketing manager with managing project timelines and creative efforts across outside agencies, internal designers, and stakeholders in all areas of the business
  • Help maintain brand consistency in creative development for consumer-facing channels including paid media, email marketing, park websites, and collateral
  • Assist the marketing manager with partnership relationship touch points including data reports, in-park activations, promotion giveaway fulfillment, and look back assessments
  • Communicate and help facilitate onsite events such as brand photo shoots, attraction preview events and Annual Passholder events
  • Complete administrative tasks as assigned to include presentation generation, submission tracking to third-party partners and IP holders, etc.
  • Partner collaboratively with national and global project stakeholders

Job Types: Part-time, Internship

Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour
