Summary of Job Duties:
The Center for Advanced Spatial Technologies (CAST) at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a two-year 12-month Postdoctoral Fellow position in geospatial applications for archaeology and human-environmental relationships. CAST is seeking a colleague who has the ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities of scholars; has transdisciplinary interests that will strengthen links among related departments such as Anthropology and other institutions collaborating departments and institutions. Methodological and theoretical experience in GIS, spatial analysis, or remote sensing is required. A successful candidate must have a strong research record, including external grant support and publication.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in anthropology, archaeology, geosciences, or a related field; conferred by the time of appointment

• At least 5 years of experience with methodological and theoretical GIS, spatial analysis, or remote sensing

• At least 5 years of experience working on archaeology projects “in the field”

• Demonstrated expertise and funding capabilities, such as publications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience applying methodological and theoretical expertise to Artic regions

• Demonstrated ability to complement and enhance the existing research areas of the Center

Additional Information:

This is a 2-year appointment, renewable based on the need for the position, availability of funding, and continued satisfactory level of performance in the role.
