North Carolina State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is a dynamic community dedicated to developing veterinarians and veterinary scientists through advancing animal and human health from cellular through ecosystem levels. With the graduation of its first class in 1985, the CVM is one of the younger veterinary programs in the country. Despite its relative youth, the College has gained international recognition on the strength of its teaching, research, engagement, and patient care efforts and is ranked 3rd among the nation’s 28 colleges of veterinary medicine in the most recent U.S. News & World Report survey. Located on 180 acres near downtown Raleigh, the College encompasses 20 buildings on the main Centennial Biomedical Campus. In addition to the four-year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, the College offers Masters and Doctoral degrees. Faculty and students work across disciplines, employing cutting edge technologies in both basic and applied research in human and veterinary medicine.

A fully integrated web based Radiology Information System (Empiric Systems/Fuji) and PACS (Merge) allows for easy report generation and image distribution throughout the College. The RIS and PACS are readily accessible offsite and via iOS devices. An online platform (Ambra) is used for teleconsultation from veterinarians in the state of North Carolina.

There are five other full-time radiologists, nine radiology residents, and eight technologists and support staff. The radiology department is a congenial team-oriented group which is excited about the prospects of furthering the development of imaging at NCSU in collaboration with the talents and ideas of a new faculty member. The NC State Veterinary Hospital is a wonderful workplace with enthusiastic students, technologists and other faculty specialists who work together to provide excellent veterinary medical care and to advance the knowledge base.
