Job Summary
The mission of the Harry L. Davis Center for Leadership is to create spaces for students and alumni to experiment with new approaches to leadership. We provide innovative, experiential courses and programs that encourage lifelong learning and the realization of one’s leadership potential. The Associate Director, Operations and Programs, leads the support and execution of key leadership programs for students and alumni, both in-person and virtual, as well as provides administrative support to the team.
- Collaborates with internal staff to provide programmatic support for the all Davis Center programs: Alumni Leadership Learning Circles, Mini-Courses and Experiential Learning Events.
- Manages and executes logistical needs for event and program delivery, including room reservations, material preparation, catering requests, fulfilling AV/Tech and facilitator needs, contracts, invoice management, etc.
- Manages program- and event-related communications with participants including scheduling, registrations, confirmations, processing event fees/refunds, event reminders, etc.
- Analyzes and reports on evaluation data to measure the effectiveness/success of programs and courses. Identifies themes showcasing success and opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Helps staff events, sessions, etc.
- Takes a lead role in managing team development, core office processes, team communications, and office improvement projects. Also maintains inventory of office supplies and needs.
- Some evening and weekend work, occasional travel may be required based on program needs.
- Uses in-depth knowledge and experience to recommend concepts for programming to leaders of various organizations and programs.
- Communicates and discusses contract terms with outside vendors. Administers contracts. Maintains organizational records and archives relevant information and program materials. Receives a minimal level of guidance and direction.
- Markets student activities programming throughout the year. Develops and implements protocols for evaluating the effectiveness of programs.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Certifications:
- A minimum five years of directly related professional experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and presentation skills.
- Navigate and rapidly learn website content programs, learning management systems and related systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multiple audiences in a sometimes ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
- High degree of competence with logistical aspects of training, event, and meeting planning.
- Ability to manage multiple detailed tasks/projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines with frequent interruptions.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and diplomatically with colleagues, as well as with students, alumni, faculty and corporate executives in a multitude of communication methods i.e., in person, email, phone.
- Professional demeanor, including tact, discretion, and a customer service- and quality-oriented approach.
- This position is currently expected to work a minimum three days per week in the office.
- Some evening and weekend work, and occasional travel based on program needs.
