WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for dietetic interns & nutrition students to research and write content for the clinical nutrition section of our new, visual RD exam review (called “RD Exam Masterclass”). It’s based on learning & memory science — designed to help future RD’s remember more, study less, and pass the RD Exam.

Ideal candidates should have strong research & exploration skills, an interest in clinical nutrition, the ability to outline a disease topic following our detailed writing guide and coachable technical writing skills.

Preferred candidates have studied Clinical Nutrition and understand the Nutrition Care Process.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a Nutrition Student or Dietetic Intern.
• Passion or interest in medical nutrition therapy.
• Good understanding of the steps in the Nutrition Care Process (ADIME)
• Some experience writing a PES statement (preferred, not required)
• Strong research & writing skills, analyzing content from multiple sources, paraphrasing words for clarity & concision, and dynamic word choice are important.
• Solid working knowledge of mainstream word processors (Microsoft Word, Google Docs, etc.)

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform Research: Collect data, harvest keywords, analyze information from credible nutrition resources, help deepen personal understanding of the exam content by communicating in a clear, concise, and thorough fashion.

Write & Explain: Write content following our unique style guide and instructions to explain points of a disease in simple, engaging, clear language. Content will be converted into video lessons, so clarity & dynamic word choice is important.

Editing: Finetune your written content, paraphrase, make information concise

Collaborate: Work with Priyanka (founder and creator) to ensure submitted content meets style guidelines

Communicate: Respond to constructive feedback and make all necessary edits to submitted work, provide updates with progress

Meet Expectations: Submit agreed number of topics within 3, 6, or 8 month internship

WHO WE ARE

Nutrition Genius® is an educational firm specializing in creating educational programs for dietitians using the science of successful learning and memory. Currently, we are focused on developing new, science-based training for the Registered Dietitian Examination.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

The idea for the program struck nearly a decade ago (in 2013), but has been under serious development particularly the past 2 ½ years. It's a comprehensive review of all four domains and every topic required to succeed in passing the RD exam. Over the last several years, the creator (Priyanka, RDN) researched learning and memory principles and has incorporated successful learning strategies into this new RD Exam training.

There have been many obstacles and challenges over the last decade in bringing RD Exam Masterclass to life. It required the learning of many new skills in instructional design, graphic design, as well as e-learning along with mental shifts to

ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

From a bird's eye view, the new program is straight forward. It's an online course with video lessons and practice test questions.

What makes the program unique and effective is its entire structure, and learning and memory features built into the lessons. The program is intelligently organized and visually striking. It's based on learning strategies backed by sufficient evidence —like chunking, spaced repetition, retrieval practice, and a few tenets from visual memory.

Each video lesson feels like a story, starting from a wide “bird’s eye” view of one disease topic as we gradually zoom into finer details of pathophysiology and study steps of the Nutrition Care Process (assessment, diagnosis, intervention) to give our students a full bodied understanding of one disease topic that is wildly simple to understand and remember.

WHY

The world doesn’t need another RD exam review, but we aim to do more than helping future dietitians pass the RD Exam.

We believe our program can break imposter syndrome and significantly boost each future dietitian’s confidence. All the elements in this program — the visuals, sequencing, simplicity of the content, bridging nutrition theory to practice in every lesson — will allow them to do that.

Ultimately, through this program, we aim to inspire future dietitians to understand the principles of nutrition faster, never second-guess their potential, and step into the workforce with gusto and confidence in their knowledge.

In simpler words, we want future dietitians to feel like a “nutrition genius”. : )

OUR HISTORY

Nutrition Genius® was founded by Priyanka Singh (a Registered Dietitian herself) after failing the DTR exam a few years ago. Once a poor student herself, she discovered the power of successful learning and memory, applied the principles to the DTR exam a second time, and raised her score dramatically by several points. In 2013, she began sharing this knowledge with people on the internet: forums, blogs, and conversations with people on the phone. This is how things started and how Nutrition Genius® was born.

With these principles, Priyanka has helped many people (who repeatedly fail) reset their study habits, change their strategies, and adopt successful learning approaches to pass the RD exam. Our most recent success story — failed the RD exam four times (scores: 21, 22, 24, 24) and went into a depression from repeatedly failing. Priyanka worked with this student over email and telephone, helped her change her approach, and apply these successful learning strategies. Eight weeks later, we received a call from this young lady. She informed us she passed the exam with a score of 29 and walked out of the exam room 20 minutes early!
