Medical Imaging Faculty - 12 month

Class Description

The Medical Imaging Faculty is a full-time, 12-month faculty position. The Medical Imaging Faculty will be responsible for all aspects of the Medical Imaging lab spaces, including, but not limited to, scheduling student simulation labs, grading lab assignments, training and scheduling adjunct lab instructors, and maintaining lab equipment and supplies. The Medical Imaging Faculty will also teach classes for the Medical Imaging department and will offer assistance in other areas when needed. The Medical Imaging Faculty will be responsible for the clinical coordination of all Advanced Modality students and will assist the Radiography Clinical Coordinator with clinical scheduling. The Medical Imaging Faculty will report to, and be guided by, the Medical Imaging Programs Director.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required. Maryland State licensure and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certificate in Radiography required. CT or MRI certification required. Minimum of three (3) years of clinical Radiography experience. Program administration and teaching experience preferred.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Coordinate Advanced Modality clinical activities.
  2. Coordinate lab usage for maximum efficiency.
  3. Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment.
  4. Order and take regular inventory of lab equipment and supplies.
  5. Assist students and faculty in assigned area.
  6. Maintain all records pertinent to daily operations.

 

Essential Job Duties are intended to be examples of duties and are not intended to be all inclusive. There will be other duties as assigned.

Position Specific Essential Duties

  1. Teach courses as assigned.
  2. Schedule students and instructors for all student simulation labs.
  3. Schedule Advanced Modalities students for clinical placement.
  4. Manage clinical tracking software for students.
  5. Work with Program Director to determine number of adjunct lab hours for payroll.
  6. Grade all student lab and course assignments.
  7. Oversee adjunct lab instructors, including scheduling conflicts and lab instructor performance evaluations.
  8. Maintain Radiography, MRI, CT, and Mammography lab equipment, supplies, and preventative maintenance.
  9. Manage radiation dosimeters for students and staff.
  10. Assist the Radiography Clinical Coordinator and Advanced Modalities Coordinator with student on-boarding activities and other duties when necessary.
  11. Manage all online instruction software for courses.
  12. Maintain office hours and counsel students when necessary.
  13. Attend all program, department, and college meetings, such as Fall Focus, Teaching/Learning Fair, Professional Development Day, and Graduation.
  14. Work with Program Director in marketing strategies for the new program, e.g. attending career fairs.
  15. Work with Program Director to obtain and maintain accreditation if necessary.
  16. Maintain ARRT licensure in Radiography and related CEU’s.
  17. Maintain Maryland State licensure in discipline
