Position Summary

The Scholarship and Outreach Coordinator, FMCCF (Friends of MCC Foundation) works with Executive Director, Development Coordinator, Development Specialist, and other team members to execute the Foundation’s scholarship program, scholarship related events, scholarship and employee donor outreach, and support initiatives in support of the College’s programs, services, and students.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

· Support fundraising strategy and goals through planning scholarship related events and outreach activities to achieve annual goals and budgets, consistent with Foundation Board and Executive Director initiatives
· Research and identify potential donors within the community for giving and sponsorship opportunities
· Create and implement strategies for a large, sustained base of annual individual donors to support scholarships and college program needs
· Oversee the Foundation’s scholarship and program fund’s application and award process
· Promote and educate the MCC community (students, employees, board, and donors) about availability, status, and performance of Foundation scholarship and program funds
· Assist with monitoring scholarship funds to accurately produce scholarship announcements
· Verify that recipients meet the criteria to receive and maintain scholarships
· Design and maintain the scholarship tracking and filing system
· Create systems to track scholarship agreements and ensure all agreements clearly define the scholarship status, scope, and award criteria and are executed by all parties
· Work with Executive Director, Development Coordinator, and Development Specialist to maintain consistent contact with all scholarship donors and provide updated, accurate financial information
· Lead the Foundation’s scholarship award and selection process to include:
§ Securing all volunteer scholarship reviewers
§ Scheduling and leading all meetings to review and award scholarships
§ Sending all communications to scholarship applicants
· Maintain the Foundation’s scholarship database to ensure all scholarships are accurately entered
· Provide scholarship data, reports, and analysis to Foundation team and Board
· Work with Executive Director and Development specialist to develop annual scholarship budget
· Maintain list of scholarship recipients with inspiring stories for participation in Foundation and College outreach efforts
· Coordinate scholarship recipients to participate and present at Board meetings, Foundation and College events, and other community events
· Steward both current and prospective donors in support of Development Coordinator efforts, and as directed by Executive Director
· Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with current donors
· Assist in ongoing communication with current donors and with stewardship initiatives as determined by the Executive Director and Development Coordinator
· Assist with preparation and delivery of presentations to potential donors and key stakeholders
· Support Executive Director with Foundation Board and Committee administration as needed
· Work with Foundation Board of Directors assigned committees
· Cultivate committee engagement and involvement for assigned committees
· Participate and assist with planning, and execution for assigned major and small scholarship events
· Assist with implementation and execution of all aspects of key event/outreach initiatives
· Work with marketing team to update all social media and web communications related to the Foundation’s scholarship outreach and event initiatives, as assigned by Executive Director or Development Coordinator
· Help with development of Foundation newsletter, monthly Board of Trustee report, and other ongoing communications, marketing, and donor stewardship
· Provide reports to the Executive Director on the status of any ongoing projects
· Support the Development Coordinator and Development Specialist as needed on donor database management, scholarship database management (Awards Management), and any committee work
· Perform general administrative support functions
· Provide assistance to the Development Coordinator and Development Specialist and other Foundation staff members as delegated by the Executive Director
· Work collaboratively with others (e.g. Board members, colleagues, stakeholders, vendors) to accomplish functions and responsibilities
· Assume additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution

Other Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
OR
· Associates degree from a regionally accredited institution plus three or more years of related experience with large-scale events, scholarship administration, writing proposals and reports, and/or managing complex projects
· Prior experience and proven track record with scholarships, scholarship administration, donors, events, and related campaigns

Desired Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
· Experience working in a nonprofit fundraising organization
· Fluency and ability to write in Spanish

Skills and Specifications

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Raiser’s Edge donor management software, Financial Edge module, and scholarship Awards Management database
· Ability to learn technical applications, including working with donor databases
· Experience with and ability to learn scholarship software tools and solutions related to reviewing and awarding scholarships. Proven understanding of servant leadership and ability to articulate this with team and community
· Professional and ethical behavior with understanding of discretion and confidentiality is essential
· Excellent writing skills, demonstrating accuracy, creativity, and persuasiveness
· Strong verbal communication skills to effectively manage frequent contact with Foundation board members, volunteers, alumni, donors, corporations, and college officials
· Ability to inspire donors to go beyond their traditional giving levels
· Exceptional planning and organizational skills
· Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Strong record of creativity and innovation
· Self-starter, able to work independently
