The Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider for its Otology/Neurotology practice at the University of Colorado Hospital (UCHa), with the potential for limited time at clinical practice sites located outside the UCHa campus. As an active member of the otology/neurotology team, the candidate will work closely with three experienced neurotologists in primarily the outpatient setting supporting a large academic tertiary referral practice focusing on the otology and neurotology patient population with varying complexities of disease. The qualified candidate will be appointed to the rank of Instructor within the Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery.

Examples of Work Performed

  • The advanced practice provider will work under the supervision of the faculty otolaryngologist to provide both inpatient and outpatient care.
  • The advanced practice provider will be expected to support all facets of the outpatient clinical service to include the following: manage new and return patient visits, provide pre-operative and post-operative education and care, and coordination of care with providers within and outside the University setting. This will take place in concert with RN and MA staff already in place.
  • The candidate will be trained to perform office-based procedures such as cerumen removal and canalolith repositioning maneuvers.
  • The advanced practice provider will be expected to support all facets of the inpatient clinical service, where appropriate and defined by need, to include the following: daily rounds, patient orders, inpatient progress notes, obtaining consultations and coordinating inpatient care.
  • The advanced practice provider will be expected to participate, where appropriate, in the clinical research programs within the department as it pertains to otology/neurotology, such as clinical trial patient enrollment, follow-up, data collection, and recording activities.
  • Provide administrative support and thorough follow-up to ensure orderly, effective, and superior patient care. This may include the development and implementation of educational materials or protocols for staff and patients.
  • Assist in the education of residents, nurses, and medical assistants in the field of otolaryngology.
  • The candidate will become proficient in the electronic medical record (EMR) system used by the hospital.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established at $94,293 to $119,828.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Ability to obtain a Colorado PA or NP license.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Previous otolaryngology or surgery ambulatory experience preferred; but if you are qualified, we will train you.
  • Otology/Neurotology experience is strongly preferred, but not a prerequisite.
  • Ability to work with a variety of health care providers and specialists.
