Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion the successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to equity and inclusion by creating and establishing practices that are appropriate for students’ individual needs and identities. They will work collaboratively with the Coordinator of LGBTQ student support on various support initiatives, programs, and events, and others across the campus community to address the needs of students representing minoritized identities and work to build relationships and connect communities to the local and regional experiences to foster a greater sense of belonging.

- A Bachelor’s degree and four years of related experience or a Master’s degree and two years of related.
- Demonstrated experience creating and establishing practices that are appropriate for student’s individual needs and identities.
- Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with diverse constituencies including students, faculty, staff, administrators, and community partners.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver professional presentations, explain complex ideas to diverse audiences, build consensus, and influence decision-making.
- Demonstrated interest in working with students.
- Demonstrated effective communication, organizational, planning, analytic, and problem resolution abilities.
- Proficient in the use of personal computers including word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with students in a college or university setting.
- Experience supervising students.

- Provide support to students from underrepresented and marginalized backgrounds, in particular, students who identify as Black/African American, Latinx, Asian and Pacific Islander, Indigenous and Native American.
- Provide advocacy, outreach, referral sources to all students, in particular, students who identify as Black/African American, Latinx, Asian and Pacific Islander, Indigenous and Native American.
- Provide mentoring to all students, in particular, students who identify as Black/African American, Latinx, Asian and Pacific Islander, Indigenous and Native American.
- Coordinate and facilitate the pre-Welcome Days annual leadership scholar’s Leadership Retreat.
- Coordinate and manage the OMSSS Mentorship Program.
- Supervision of student workers.
Duty/Responsibility
- Coordinates and executes co-curricular programming that supports student success through community-building activities, cultural programs, leadership development, community service and engagement, and identity development.
- Plans, implements, and evaluates co-curricular programs that promote equity, social justice, critical consciousness, cultural competence, and a sense of belonging for all students.
- Work collaboratively with the Coordinator of LGBTQ student support on various support initiatives, programs, and events.
- Serve as the advisor for identity-based clubs and organizations such as Common Ground
- Support students in planning, implementing, and evaluating co-curricular programs that explore culture, identity, and other ways of knowing.
- Collaborate with Admissions to assist in outreach initiatives for potential multicultural students as dictated by the Multicultural Recruit Plan.
Duty/Responsibility
- Serve on campus committees and projects/task forces to represent the interests of underrepresented students such as, but not limited to CARES, Student Development Collaborative, and Incident Coordination Team.
- Work collaboratively with community people, organizations, and area agencies on co-curricular programs that promote equity, social justice, critical consciousness, cultural competence, and a sense of belonging for all.
- Other duties as assigned.
