The Online Community Manager will leverage resources, including a customizable student portal, to foster inclusivity and collaboration. UNH hosts over 100+ accredited online programs with broad, global student enrollment.

Other minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, Public Relations, Psychology, Business, or related field with 3+ years equivalent work experience, or master’s degree in digital interactive media, adult learning, instructional technology, training/development, or related field with 2 years work experience.
  • Experienced in developing, growing, and supporting online communities
  • Able to forge strong business relationships and work collaboratively with partners throughout the university
  • Able to develop and execute reporting of community engagement using tools such as Tableau and Google analytics metrics
  • Both creative and technically savvy in executing responsibilities, ranging from performing daily administrative portal duties, brainstorming creative solutions, to thinking in a strategic marketing capacity
  • Able to use Canva and MS Office Suite to produce content; familiarity with educational portal sites/LMS systems (e.g., Canvas and Pathify)
  • Demonstrated exceptional communication, time management, and project management skills with attention to detail and dedication to ongoing improvement and adjustment to the online community’s dynamic needs
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, report/present to university leadership, and meet deadlines

  • Worked in a higher education setting
  • Instructional design experience
  • Managerial experience

Duty/Responsibility

  • Partner with University of New Hampshire program owners/key stakeholders to define and assist in the execution of UNH Online population’s communication needs; develop strong relationships across UNH entities to understand various needs for online students, faculty, and staff alike
  • Administrate UNH Online’s portal content delivery including timely, pertinent announcements/tasks as well as UNH Online portal pages and groups for students and faculty
  • Review and monitor UNH Online portal activity; escalate concerns/issues as necessary to ensure a safe, inclusive environment among community members
  • Liaise with UNH ET&S to define portal requirements and support; request specific portal policy as well as additional customization/functionality of the portal Governance Committee
  • Maintain and manage system processes, user profiles/portal roles and support portal/social media content deployment
  • Build a scalable business expertise capability, and support network, to address UNH Online community members’ needs

Duty/Responsibility

  • Formulate creative approaches to engage students and instill a strong sense of community/belonging; generate and/or oversee content creation when necessary for portal
  • Create and maintain reporting to share findings related to community engagement, with multiple levels of leadership, to assess ROI and provide measurable and actionable analytics
  • Conduct student satisfaction surveys per leadership guidance.
