Summary:
Under general supervision, the Development Officer will be responsible for annual and major giving efforts at the Healthy Alaska Natives Foundation (HANF). This will include efforts to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, corporate, and foundation donors through a variety of fundraising activities.
Responsibilities:
Define and execute specific packages, appeals, and campaigns; fundraising and sponsorship activities (events, one-to-one meetings, direct mail, etc.); communications and outreach; and donor recognition and stewardship based on annual giving constituency groups and defined goals. Responsible for planning and coordinating the HANF annual fundraising event. Has overall responsibility for the employee giving appeal and other annual giving appeals.
Manage a portfolio of individual, corporate, and foundation major gift prospects and donors.
Develop, manage and monitor budgets,contracts, and reporting for all fundraising activities.
Works closely with other HANF staff to analyze data related to annual giving efforts to effectively target constituent groups and to assess the effectiveness of annual fund appeals, engagement strategies, and donor retention.
Responsible for the identification, research, and qualification of new annual giving prospects; renewing lapsed donors; and upgrading current donors.
Manage all HANF activity volunteers.
Work with HANF’s Operations Manager to create and send timely welcome packets to new donors upon receipt of pledge/donation including special messages.
Represent HANF and ANTHC in external contact with grant making agencies, funders, foundations donors and partners as required. Promotes the visibility of HANF and ANTHC.
Responsible for the creation and execution of Donor Relations Plan to ensure donors are acknowledged, recognized, and stewarded commensurate with level of giving. Plans and executes stewardship activities for donors.
Stays abreast of ANTHC Division and Department needs and HANF fundraising priorities. Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS
· Knowledge of 501(c)(3) operations.
· Knowledge of applicable Federal,State and local laws, codes and regulations.
· Skill in securing annual and major gifts.
· Skill in working with individual, corporate, and foundation prospects and donors.
· Skill in public speaking and representing the organization in large groups.
· Skill in oral and written communication.
· Skill in managing multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meeting deadlines.

· Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of applications.
