Delridge Neighborhoods Development Association (DNDA) is a nonprofit organization that integrates art, nature, and neighborhood to build and sustain a dynamic Delridge. For over 25 years, DNDA has been a voice for historically underserved communities of color, low-income families, immigrants, refugees, and youth. DNDA collaborates with local creatives and organizers to develop projects that engage young and diverse communities. Many of these programs are held at DNDA’s historic Youngstown Cultural Arts Center.

Position Summary
The Development Director is a strategic leader, seasoned fundraiser, and community and relationship builder. The Development Director will be responsible for researching and identifying public, foundation and corporate grant prospects; writing and submitting grants, including detailed budgets; submitting grant reports; cultivating and stewarding relationships with individual and major donors, as well as institutional and corporate funders; and helping plan and coordinate fundraising events. A deep passion for social justice is a MUST! The ideal candidate embraces the opportunity to lead and drive the adoption and implementation of Community-Centric Fundraising practices, ethical storytelling, and integrated advocacy.

This position requires a strong and continued commitment to DNDA’s community and values.

Primary Responsibilities
o Develop strategies to harness existing relationships and identify and secure new individual and major donors, and partnerships with corporations and institutional foundations.
o Lead, train, motivate, and partner with staff and board on fundraising goals, donor cultivation, and best practices.
o Write and submit multidisciplinary and collaborative grant proposals, ranging in size, scope and complexity to foundations, corporations, government, and other institutions.
o Manage grant tracking process and reporting schedule, satisfying all reporting requirements in a timely manner.
o Partner with Executive Director on operational duties related to grant contracts and negotiations.
o Actively engage in ongoing prospect research to identify donors and prioritize funding opportunities.
o Work with Executive Director to convene and leverage the support of Capital Campaign Steering Committee, help identify and recruit committee chairs.
o Lead the planning and execution of fundraising events, including the annual gala, Destination Delridge.
o Promote a culture of Community-Centric Fundraising amongst staff, board, and donors.

Minimum qualifications and experience
o 4+ years of nonprofit experience, preferably in a senior leadership role.
o Proven success securing grants, soliciting major gifts, and securing individual, corporate, and foundation support.
o Broad-based knowledge of development strategies, including the use of databases, social media, and membership programs.
o Experience working with a diverse staff, community, and donor pool.
o Thrive in both self-directed and collaborative environments.
o Exceptional writing and interpersonal skills.
o Strong time and project management skills.
o Committed to artistic, environmental, affordable housing, and social justice efforts.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
