What you can expect in this role
As a Spectrum Intern, you’ll be essential to two teams — your respective department and your Intern peer group. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You’ll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 31st, webinars, community service, cross-functional project, and final presentations.

Internship responsibilities may include

  • The Sales & Retention Operations Communications intern will learn to develop, execute and measure impact of a variety of internal communications tactics targeted to current Sales & Retention employees.
  • Communications activities are focused on informing and preparing employees to support sales and customer retention objectives.
  • Ensure timely preparation of daily and weekly e-newsletter communications to engage and inform employees.
  • Assist with script preparation and provide logistical support for video production.
  • Prepare and analyze weekly and monthly communications metric reports for operations support leadership.
  • Analyze data to identify and communicate trends and opportunities to assist in achievement of business goals including extending the reach of communications programs.
  • Fulfill ad hoc communications requests, as needed, in support of business initiatives.


Here’s what it takes to get started

Required qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Degree
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
  • Ability to travel locally to Spectrum Intern development events and activities throughout the program
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship


Preferred qualifications

  • Interest/background in Communications
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently within established timeframes
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent PC skills including high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Hard working and eager to learn in a highly intellectual, collaborative environment
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented
