Looking for a fun & rewarding experience working with children? The Hockomock Area YMCA’s School Age Program is hiring educators for our growing programs (K-5). Site Directors collaborate with their team to support student’s social and emotional needs and provide inspiring activities that engage a diverse set of interests, needs and learning styles through discovery, exploration and play.
We offer Site Director training, competitive salary, benefits, and special discount rates for employee's children. This is a flexible position, working Monday to Friday. Options include working full time or part time; working all 12 months or just the 10 months that school is in session; working mornings (6:45-8:30am), afternoons (1:30/2:30-6:00pm), or both mornings and afternoons.
In this exciting role, you'll be trained and have the chance to do the following:

  • Direct the daily operations of the program in support of EEC and the YMCA policies and procedures
  • Motivate, train, develop and oversee all on-site staff
  • Organize, evaluate, and oversee the school site to create a fun and engaging learning environment
  • Foster relationships by creating open and ongoing communication with caregivers and school administration
  • Provide a caring, safe, and positive learning environment
  • Provide guidance and feedback to help team members strengthen knowledge and skills to accomplish individual and team goals
  • Demonstrated passion to work with children in a learning environment
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with students, caregivers, staff, and colleagues
  • Ability to successfully pass and maintain criminal history background checks
  • Well-organized, thorough, and highly reliable/dependable
  • Ability to remain calm and maintain a high-level of professionalism and personal work ethics/integrity at all times
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Meet one of the following requirements of EEC:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Child Development or related field with six months of experience working with school age children
  • Bachelor or Associate degree in any field with nine months of experience in a school age setting
  • High school diploma with one year of experience working with school age children
  • Direct instructional experience in a licensed childcare program, an elementary public or charter school, Department of Health licensed camp or an approved private educational organizational system
