Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Postdoctoral Fellow conducts research with mouse models addressing the role of metabolism in immunity.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • The candidate will independently design and implement experiments with input from the adviser and collaborator(s).
  • Project includes elucidation of the role of metabolism in T cells as it relates to development, tumorigenesis and immunotherapy using mouse models.
  • Participates in weekly lab meetings.
  • Contributes to the maintenance of the laboratory.
  • Prepares experimental data for publication independently with minimal input from adviser and peers.
  • Maintains accurate records of laboratory notebooks and research activity; reviews literature and prepares manuscripts and abstracts for submission; presents findings at national/international meetings.
  • May also mentor graduate/undergraduate students.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Qualified candidate will have a Ph.D. in Biomedical sciences or related disciplines.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of previous experience in molecular biology.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Candidate must be willing to work with mouse models.
  • The candidate must be highly motivated with evidence of productivity.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be adept at working in teams and with multiple Principal Investigators.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with mouse models and techniques in immunology.
Equipment Utilized
  • Equipment specific to a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology laboratory. Computer data input.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Sitting, standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Computer data input.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT: Laboratory environment. Moderate noise.

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
