What we want

This Postdoctoral Research Associate will be responsible for conducting research experiments under the guidance of our faculty members, as well as overseeing main lab operations and assisting with general animal care. In addition, the selected candidate will be responsible for reagent preparation and assisting in the training of students on various lab techniques. Another large component required of this Associate will be to present findings based off of their experiments, publicizing their results in professional presentations, and contributing to the University's grant proposals. What you need to know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Appropriate doctoral degree.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience using R, molecular lab experience, and genetics experience in plants and insects.

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • PhD in genetics or related field

  • Experience with mapping of phenotypic traits.

Responsibilities:

  • Research Experiments - Collecting data and analyzing results

  • Documentation/Publishing - Writing manuscripts, presenting findings, and contributing to grant proposals.

  • Training - Training and mentoring more junior scientists.

  • Lab Maintenance - General lab duties, purchasing model organism care. Performs other duties as assigned.
