Summary of Job Duties:

The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting in vitro and in vivo experiments. The work will include but is not limited to: In vitro work includes molecular biology and microbiology experiments, such as DNA cloning, transformation, gene knockout techniques in bacteria and animal cells, transduction, DNA and RNA extractions, RT-PCR, Western Blot, ELISA, metabolomics, and bacterial culturing; In vivo works includes chicken and mouse enteric infection experiments, such as chicken necrotic enteritis, mouse Clostridium perfringens infection, and chicken and mouse Campylobacter jejuni infection. Responsibilities and duties will also include experimental designing and conduction, data collection, interpretation and management, and presentations at scientific meetings and manuscript writing.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in the field of molecular biology, microbiology, poultry science, or closely related field.
  • Can demonstrate expertise in molecular biology and poultry science with ability on various techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Will have experience in leading and training graduate students or research assistants and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
