Job Responsibilities

The Clean Energy and Water (CEW) lab in the Department of Mechanical Engineering needs to hire one postdoc in the research direction of computational materials in clean water systems.
Scarcity of freshwater and the increasing need for water supplies are already critical in many arid regions and are becoming increasingly important. Development of better membrane materials and structure for water purification is vital for life. We seek a postdoc focusing on computational investigations of the stability of membrane structures in solution and transportation of water/ions inside membrane.

Responsibilities:
Provide DFT/MD calculation support for understanding the data obtained from our experimental team
Mentor junior members in the lab for MD calculations
Maintain all the computational resources in the lab
Help supervisor of the CEW lab writing papers and proposals

Department/College Description

The mechanical engineering masters prepares graduates to support the design of engineered systems through the application of the fundamental knowledge, skills, and tools of mechanical engineering. Students will work independently as well as collaboratively with leaders in industry, while demonstrating the professional and ethical responsibilities of the engineering profession. Ultimately, graduates will enhance their skills through formal education and training, independent inquiry, and professional development.
