Job Summary:

The Department is interested in candidates working at the cutting edge in host-microbe interactions focusing on parasitology. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a vigorous, independent, extramurally funded research program, actively participate in the graduate, undergraduate, and/or medical student teaching programs of the Department and provide university and community service as appropriate.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to:
1) Develop a vigorous, independent, extramurally funded research program---60%
2) Actively participate in the graduate, undergraduate, and/or medical student teaching programs of the Department---30%
3) Provide university and community service as appropriate---10%
The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Education:

Required
Terminal Degree
MD, or PhD in Biology or related field, is required.

Qualifications:

At least three years postdoctoral research experience in host-microbe interactions, with a focus on parasitology, is required. Candidates must have a distinguished academic record and a demonstrated record of extramural funding.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
