Job Description:

Reporting to the director of academic programs and working closely with the Cogut Institute director and manager, the academic programs coordinator serves as a point of contact for faculty affiliated with the institute; the cohort of undergraduate, graduate, postdoctoral, and faculty fellows; academic departments and programs across the University; and prospective applicants.

The academic programs coordinator coordinates all aspects of internal and external fellow recruiting and selection, coordinates the selection process for funding applications, handles research account tracking and reimbursements for all fellows, provides support for the weekly fellows’ seminar, and coordinates all aspects of the institute’s curriculum.

The incumbent must be able to approach data with an intellectual awareness of the information’s impact on decision-making and build meaningful reports using University systems, spreadsheets, and database technology. Effective presentation skills help the institute synthesize data and move forward with the necessary planning.

The coordinator actively maintains knowledge of relevant University policies, institute guidelines, and technical systems to fulfill their responsibilities.

Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree and at least 3 years related experience or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience in higher education, preferred.
  • Ability to think and act independently, and handle competing priorities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Banner, Cognos, Workday (financial coordinator), Interfolio, and Canvas  desirable or a willingness to learn.
  • Experience in processing and tracking reimbursements, preferred. 
  • High-level computer and Microsoft Office/Google Suites skills required, experience with data software is a plus.
  • Experience with use and troubleshooting of A/V systems and office equipment (copiers, printers, computers).
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with all levels within the University and external communities.
  • Possess a willingness and ability to work closely with all team members in a highly collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
