Scope of Job | The UTRGV School of Medicine Department of Neuroscience seeks to add an outstanding neuroscientist with strong interest in the neurobiological basis of brain diseases, including addiction, autism, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, neurodegenerative, memory, movement and cerebrovascular disorders and brain injury. Strong experience in either non-invasive neuromodulation, neurophysiology, multimodal imaging, and computational neuroscience. Both MD/PhD and PhD (physician and scientist) neuroscientists are encouraged to apply. |
Minimum Qualifications | Candidates must have an MD and/or PhD degree, postdoctoral research experience, and a record of outstanding research publications. |
Discipline Specific Required Qualifications | Neuroscience, Psychiatry, Neurology, and related disciplines. |
Preferred Qualifications | As above and experience in either non-invasive neuromodulation, neurophysiology, multimodal imaging and/or computational neuroscience. |

Additional Information | UTRGV is a distributed institution. As such and as assigned, the position may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. |
