The Division of Nephrology at the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and the Department of Pediatrics, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is recruiting a scientist at the rank of Research Instructor on the non-tenure track. The ideal candidate for this position will have completed a Ph.D. (or equivalent) and postdoctoral training in kidney injury and stem cell/regenerative medicine. The candidate should have a research program focused on the role of kidney vascular cells in the repair and regeneration of kidney injury. The candidate should have experience with mouse and cell-based techniques focused on kidney injury, molecular biology, transgenic mouse models, rodent surgeries, and rodent histopathology. The candidate should have a record indicating strong potential for academic productivity and further extramural funding.
The Division of Nephrology at the University of Pittsburgh has five faculty engaged in high-quality NIH and foundation-supported research, making it one of the best-funded pediatric nephrology programs in the country. The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh ranks among the top 10 free-standing children’s hospitals in total and NIH- sponsored research funding.
