Summary

 

Pediatric Neuropsychologist

 

Baylor College of Medicine is recruiting a full-time Pediatric Neuropsychologist. The neuropsychologist will be a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) with a primary appointment in the Section of Pediatric Psychology at The Children's Hospital of San Antonio. 

 

Clinical responsibilities will be in San Antonio and will include:


•    Conducting outpatient consultations and neuropsychological evaluations for pediatric patients. Primary focus will be with Epilepsy and Epilepsy surgery, but will also include referrals from Hematology/Oncology, Rehabilitation and Physical medicine, Genetics, Neurology, General Pediatrics, and other subspecialties.
•    Participating in multidisciplinary teams to provide better patient care
•    Providing psychoeducation to families, community providers, and local school districts
•    Providing consultation/liaison services to inpatients in collaboration with other psychology team members 
•    Providing outpatient psychotherapy (if the neuropsychologist chooses to)

 

The position is 100% clinical, but allows ample time for research, teaching, and program development. Our psychologists train BCM pediatric residents, Family Medicine residents, psychology interns during their clinical rotations in behavioral health, medical students, and outside learners. We collaborate with multiple subspecialties on research and program development.

Minimum Qualifications

 


•    Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D) from a Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology APA or CPA accredited program with a specialization in neuropsychology.
•    Completed an APA-accredited psychology internship
•    Completed a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology that complies with the training guidelines of APA Division 40 
•    ABCN board certification or ABCN board eligibility
•    Licensed or license-eligible in Texas. 
•    Additional training and experiences with Epilepsy and Epilepsy surgery patients is preferred
•    Bilingual is preferred
