The Chen laboratory in the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine, seeks talented and self-driven individuals to join our group. The Research Associate will join an interdisciplinary and collaborative team of scientists to elucidate genetics underlying inherited human retinal diseases through integrative analysis of large scale genomics, epigenomics, and single cell omics datasets from both human and model organisms. One of the significant gaps in our current understanding of inherited human retinal degenerative disorders is that mutations cannot be identified for about 30% of the patients. To address this gap, we have recruited over 7,000 patients with inherited retinal disease and performed comprehensive genomic sequencing.
