Postdoctoral/Research Associate Position in Pulmonary Research at HMR building

Dr. Beiyun Zhou’s lab is recruiting a Research Associate. Dr. Zhou’s lab is interested in studying the cell and molecular biology of the alveolar epithelium with focus on analysis of alveolar epithelial cell (AEC) differentiation and plasticity in the context of lung injury and fibrosis. The position is for qualified candidates who wish to pursue a career in the basic and translational research of lung disease idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). 

Responsibilities and Duties

• Plans, designs, and conducts highly technical and complex research projects independently.
• Conducts cellular and molecular experiments for hypothesis-driven research
• Analyzes, interprets, summarizes and compiles data
• Prepares presentations and publication for scientific findings under the direction of the Principal Investigator
• Be responsible for teaching techniques to other lab members
• Serves as a project liaison between the lab and its collaborators. 
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.      

Preferred Qualifications

A Ph.D. in biomedical sciences or related disciplines is required. Previous training and experiences in the following research areas are preferred: 1) experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, and pathology; 2) mechanistic studies of metabolic pathways and mitochondrial function; 3) mechanistic studies of IPF; 4) experience in working with mouse models ; 5) experience in bioinformatics.
