Position Summary | A postdoctoral position in the laboratory of Dr. Salman is available to work in translational research studies in Immuno-oncology. Dr. Salman’s Immuno-oncology lab works on tumor immunology, immune monitoring, and CAR T cell generation and seeks highly motivated researchers with a PhD in the area of cancer biology and tumor immunology or related fields to apply. This position will play a key role in tumor antigens and neoantigen discovery and targeting by genetically modified T and NK cells, and optimizing tumor response to Transgenes and antibodies. It also involves analyzing tumor microenvironment immune cells by single cell analysis and secretomic patterns. The successful candidate will use cellular studies and collaborate with bioinformatics to develop targeted immunotherapies for cancer. Duties or techniques may include, but are not limited to, the following: * Cell sorting by flow cytometry or magnetic beads * Cell culture * Lentiviral transduction * Generation of vectors and reagents * Western blotting, cellular and protein analysis. * ChIP-seq * CRISPR/Cas9 mutagenesis * Animal models * Drug sensitivity assays * Maintaining accurate records of experiments and results * Communicating with other team members and senior departmental members * Presenting data locally and at national and international meetings As the nation’s largest medical school, IUSM is committed to being an institution that not only reflects the diversity of the learners we teach and the patient populations we serve, but also pursues the values of diversity, equity and inclusion that inform academic excellence.
