Job Description:

I. Provide comprehensive counseling and advising programs and services to students to

enhance their personal, professional, and educational development.

A. Provide psychological counseling and related services.

1. Serve as advocate for students and student issues.

2. Make referrals to outside practitioners/agencies for counseling or social service needs.

3. Counsel students on personal/psychological issues/concerns.

4. Consult/confer with mental health practitioners/providers regarding clients' needs.

5. Respond to psychological emergencies; provide crisis intervention.

6. Review assessment instruments/reports to assess students psychological needs.

II. Maintain professional knowledge in job related areas including College, local, state, and

federal laws and regulations, and those of the professional area.

A. Ensure compliance with best practices in the field

1. Remain updated on emerging trends and best practices in her job related areas,

through professional associations, professional literature, participating in

workshops, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

B. Active member of CARE Team

1. Remain up to date on emerging trends and best practices in Behavioral Intervention

Teams best practices.

2. Update information on students in the electronic systems when needed.

3. Continue assessment, interventions and referrals of students referred to CARE

when needed.

C. Assist in the development of and present psycho-educational programs.

1. Assess institutional/student needs, and design and deliver workshops and other

programs for students to support their development/wellness.


Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or closely related field; with ten (10) years' experience that includes psychological counseling, psycho-therapy services, crisis intervention, social work, and personal computer operations; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Must hold a current licensure in counseling psychology, social work or alcohol and other drug counseling


Additional Information:

Salary Range: Grade 6; $59,939.00 - $64,615.00. Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate With Education and Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Full state Benefits.

This position is eligible for on-campus and partial telework options.

Grade: 6 Unit-Professional position
